Little Bit and Birthdays...

Hello everyone...
I got a hamster a few days ago. I named her Little Bit. She is a Roborovski Hamster. She is fully grown at two inches long.

This week has also been birthday week for my family. My Dads birthday was on Friday, my brothers birthday was on yesterday, and my birthday is today. I want to thank everyone for the birthday wishes.

Camping, best friend...and a little sad news...

Before I get into all the amazing and fun stuff, I have to, unfortunately, say that Nibbles died a week ago today. He was an amazing gerbil. I will miss you, my little friend...

Rest In Peace

Now, on to the happy stuff. I went to Girls Camp this last week. It was amazing. It was my second year. I got a quilt, I will write about it tomorrow. A squirrel got into our cabin, a snake swam right next to me, and turkeys surrounded us. It was the best... and I have pictures...

My friends, Jill and Leah.

I got second place in my year for shooting.

My first bullseye in archery.

My best friend came to visit from across the country. I saw her at church yesterday, and again today. I will miss her when she goes back home.

Deer and Bear

Yesterday we had a family of bears come over. It was a mother bear and her three cubs. It was the first time I've ever see baby bears in real life. It was amazing. Sadly I was unable to get a picture.  Today, around 7:30 in the morning, we had a mother deer and her twin fawns. I was able to get a picture.

Another Attack...

Today, about an hour after my brother and I let the chickens out, a fox came around. I tapped on my window a few times to try and scare it away. He/she came back a few minutes later. Sadly, Nick and I couldn't do anything to stop the fox. As far as we know, it got the duck and most of the chickens. As of right now, we only have two chickens left. Although this is sad, it is the circle of life. We have decided to give the rest of the chickens away.

I was able to get this picture of the fox.

Camping, Skunks, and Bats oh, my....

On July 31 I went to an over night camping trip to Camp Joseph with my friends. We had so much fun. We sang songs, played games around the campfire, ate hot dogs and s'mores, and had a devotional. We stayed up until one in the morning and a few of my friends went out. Five minutes later, a skunk got into our stuff. It kept me up for another hour. My friends came back around two in the morning and the skunk ran out right in front of them. Thankfully it didn't spray.
Around eight in the morning (August 1st)  we all got up and had breakfast and got everything together to leave. I ended up staying at my friends house for a few hours.
Today, my brother and I were talking and and he noticed a small brown thing on the outside of our window. It was a small bat.
Please note that there is a glass window between us and the bat. Bats are known to carry rabies. If you see a bat on your house or on the ground and don't know what to do, please call animal control or someone who knows what to do. Do not go near or touch the bat. This bat is not in any danger. He/she just happened to land on our window to sleep. He/she will wake up and fly away when it gets dark. In this situation, both the bat and us are safe.

Sleep sweet little guy.
